Job Overview: As a Bathing Technician as PetIQ, you will play a positive role in the lives of pets and pet parents by providing a bathing experience that includes compassion, gentleness, reassurance, safety and comfort in a non-scissor environment. You will be key in delivering our brand promise to pet parents, partners and other team members by living the PetIQ values and promoting a culture of safety in the grooming environment. Essential Duties:

• Safely restrain / hold pets for wellness procedures including nail trims/grinding, anal gland expression and clipping
• Make recommendations for services and products for every pet, every time, based on the pet's lifestyle and an understanding of canine hygiene and environment.
• Scan pets for microchips
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by disinfecting surfaces and equipment in between each pet
• Promote a culture of safety in your salon and live our values, while continuing to reinforce our brand promise with pet parents, partners, and team members
• Achieve goals, as set by your manager, including dollars per pet, pets per clinic, preferred product and microchips sold
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with pet parents and partners.
• Collect payment, dispense, and label medication, and review discharge paperwork with pet parents.
• Performs Bathing Technician functions, including bath appropriate to pet type, as requested by Pet Parent, agreed upon and described on the groom card, computer system profile, or instruction form Minimal Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Industry relevant experience
  • Experience with time and attendance/HR Software, scheduling databases and iPad technology Understanding of canine behaviors
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evening shifts
  • Occasional travel to community events (local) may be requested, including other Wellness Centers Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experienced with Safe Pet Handling
    • Experience with brushing, combing, bathing and drying of all coat types
    • Experience with nail trimming and ear cleaning
    • Can execute preparatory hair trimming
    • Can provide basic finishing techniques
    • Ability to provide high level of customer service
    • Experience with pet salon equipment handling and maintenance
    • Familiar with safety and sanitization protocols Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
      • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
