Job Description:
A company is looking for a Mortgage Product Counsel to provide
legal advice and support related to mortgage law and
compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise on compliance with mortgage origination, servicing, and
default management laws
Provide guidance on RESPA compliance and ensure alignment with
federal and state regulations
Support transactional matters involving mortgage origination and
assist with litigation and risk management
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active
bar membership
Minimum 5+ years of legal experience in mortgage, consumer finance,
or real estate law
Deep knowledge of RESPA, TILA, ECOA, and other mortgage-related
laws
Experience with loan officer compliance and NMLS regulations
Strong understanding of the secondary mortgage market and loan
servicing
