Job Description:

SUMMARY:
The Application Developer I works in accordance with the software development lifecycle to design and develop both new applications and enhancements to existing applications according to business specifications.  Primary responsibilities include software design and development, unit testing, performing design and code reviews, and development of technical documentation. Additional responsibilities include performing system analysis, code modifications, and functional testing to troubleshoot application production issues. Key attributes of the Application Developer I include technical proficiency in specific areas of the current development technologies (Visual Studio, .Net (preferably C#), JavaScript, HTML, OOP concepts, SQL), the ability to quickly master new technologies as needed, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a focus on delivering a high level of customer service.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 
  

• Develop an in-depth knowledge of the application portfolio, development tools, and development procedures.
• Design application solutions that fully implement business requirements.
• Develop high quality software code in accordance with established company standards and development guidelines.
• Produce technical documentation that accurately and thoroughly depicts the software design and code base.
• Perform adequate unit testing of own and other developers’ application development work. At a minimum, unit testing should ensure all requirements have been addressed, all basic functionality works, and errors are handled properly.
• Expeditiously troubleshoot application production issues
• Provide updates to the Project Managers on work in progress, work completed, work planned, and issues potentially impacting the on-time completion or quality level of work.

• Strong Foundation in Object Oriented Programming OOA/OOD/OOP
• Solid basic mastery of the .Net Framework inclusive of: C#/ASP.NET/SQL Server
• Good hands-on front end skills: HTML/CSS/JavaScript
• Demonstrated interest in pursuing .Net technologies
• A desire to continually improve development skills and learn new technologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• 
  

• A BS degree from a fully accredited institution is required.
• Some practical experience in .Net web-enabled development (internship/co-op/paid employment) is preferred.
