Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) Job Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day, 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years; the unit accepts first-time travelers License: GA or Compact license must be in hand at the time of submittal Certifications: ACLS, BCLS Must-Have: Skills in Cardiac, Vascular, Thoracic with the ability to scrub. Heart Transplant experience is highly preferred. Job Description: - Pre-Screen Unit: Candidates will be reviewed to determine clinical fit. - If clinically approved and within guidelines, candidates will be sent to the manager for a final decision. - Manager will interview candidates. - Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics in the Cardiovascular Operating Room. - Unit Systems: Familiarity with systems like Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR. - Schedule Requirements: - Requests for time off (RTO): Maximum of 7 days. - Block or self-scheduling: Not available. - Weekends: Rotation required. - Call Requirements: Yes, variable --- typically one weekday call every week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks. - Holidays: - Expected to work if one major holiday falls during the assignment. - Expected to work both if two major holidays fall during the assignment. - Expected to work two if three major holidays fall during the assignment. - Major Holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve and Day. - Scrubs: Provided. - Importance of Full Compliance: Required to start on time; potential delay of 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule. - Orientation: 13 hours provided.
