Job Description:

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. -Works closely with Cath Lab patients ensuring their comfort and making them aware of what is going to take place. -Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. -Documents patient care given. -Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. -Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. -Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. -Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. -Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. -Perform other duties as assigned. -May be required to perform duties of the CNA, MA or LPN or other nursing staff on occasion. -Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned. -Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS. -Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary. -Accepts all call schedule as directed. -Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.Minimum EducationAssociate's degree is required.BSN is preferred. -Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. -CertificationsBasic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) -LicensesCurrent and active Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of Tennessee.Equal opportunity and affirmative action employers and are looking for diversity in candidates for employment: Minority/Female/Disabled/Protected Veteran
