Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. - The Effector Sub-System Products (ESP) department is responsible for all aspects of these subsystems design, test and production. - ESP is seeking recent college graduates to join our Power Electronics & Controls (PE&C) team with the skills and passion to engineer complex power systems, analog design, linear control systems and/or motor control systems. - A successful candidate is one who can participate in a multi-disciplined team, properly apply engineering tools & processes and effectively communicate with others.

The Power Electronics and Controls section is responsible for power design to include power conversion, DC/DC converters, AC/DC converters, gimbal controls, solenoid controls, HV converters, small signal analog circuits, initiator circuits, sensing and monitoring circuits, flight termination, and support for telemetry systems.

A candidate with interests, studies, research or experiences which are technically broad will be a possible fit in our electrical subsystems group. - These could include one or more of the following experiences: hands on laboratory work with hardware and software, subsystem integration and testing, a focus on system interactions and industrial engineering, system / subsystem modeling and analysis, investigating defects and developing root cause and corrective actions.

All Candidates will be expected to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, working under general supervision. - The position requires frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts, and techniques. - Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive. This position is an onsite role. What You Will Do

  • Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard non-isolated power conversion topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost) including modules and discrete designs. -
  • Guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation.
  • Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule.
  • Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff. Qualifications You Must Have -
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
      • Experience in design, analysis, simulation, and/or test experience with linear converters.
        • Experience with any of the following non-isolated converter topologies: - buck, boost, buck-boost.
          • Experience with design, analysis, and test with analog electronic design and analysis, including FET, BJT, and/or Op-amp circuits.
            • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
              • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer
                • Lab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics
                • Demonstrated use of software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layout -
                • Demonstrated ability to document designs and circuit performance verification
                • Understanding of fundamental power conversion concepts, components, and techniques
                • Design, analysis, and/or test experience with any of the following isolated converter topologies: - flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, and/or push-pull. - Design scope will ideally include stability.
                • Familiarity with circuit simulator LTspice, SIMPLIS, Saber and/or analysis tool Mathcad.
                • Ability to be a self-starter and be able to function in a dynamic environment.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
