engineer for our process engineering team to bridge the connection
between chemical reaction requirements and the mechanical
manufacturing process across our portfolio in North America. The
role is highly visible and impacts our material preparation
operations from a manufacturing efficiency, rate, operator safety,
uptime, and quality capability viewpoints. You will help Stryten
drive to the next level of manufacturing as we lean on your ability
to mesh the chemical and mechanical aspects of production into
reality. You will support facilities located in Kansas, Iowa, New
York, Georgia, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Arkansas. ---Reporting
through the corporate process engineering team, you will help
facilitate, design, spec, and guide new process improvements as we
strive for manufacturing excellence. With 11 manufacturing
facilities in the US, there are always opportunities to move up or

initiatives.Responsibilities
- Design and facilitate improvement projects to new and existing
equipment within the reactor processes
- Work closely with facility manufacturing and engineering teams
to determine customer needs and assist in troubleshooting existing
processes often requiring physical, hands-on work
- Facilitate, develop, and manage capital projects
- Develop theoretical models and implement improved reactor
control mechanisms to improve safety, quality, and production.
- Develop data based models that will allow us to identify
opportunities and improve our manufacturing efficiency
- Continue to learn and understand the reaction process, optimal
machine design, and manufacturing flow at our facilities and the
roles of manufacturing team
- Ability to handle lead and lead acid batteries.
- Improve uptime via targeted process improvements
- Increase production speed at the current quality requirements
and uptime
- Isolate critical data outputs of the process and define key
indicators of process performance
- Complete finite element analysis (FEA)---
- Foster strong relationship with members of the operations team
and vendors
- Continually grow your personal knowledge and technical ability
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- BS Or Greater in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical
Engineering
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Word, PowerPoint,
Excel
- Strong knowledge of statistical testing
- Project management skills are encouraged and a willingness to
learn is required Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility
- Capability to work with and write programming languages (Python
preferred)
- Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools is a strong plus
- General understanding of PLC's and industrial automation
- Three or more years of experience in batteries or a related
field
- You will work in both office and manufacturing environments.---
Battery manufacturing employs chemicals, heat, and heavy equipment;
and as such you will at times be exposed to lead, fumes, noise,
dirt, hazards, and chemicals. In all cases you will be provided
with appropriate PPE.--- ---
- You must be able to see, hear and speak, able to sit, stand for
at least two hours at a time, bend, crawl, squat, kneel, climb,
able to use both arms and hands to use a computer and peripherals,
lift 40 pounds from floor level, able to work below ground level in
confined spaces and on stationary or mobile elevated platforms,
able to wear respirator and other personal protective equipment
(PPE) as required.
- Travel may be up to 50%
- Training will be provided in Fort Smith, AR and Salina, KS for
the first 6 months. Following the training period the full-time
location can be either Fort Smith, AR or Atlanta, GA. #LI-JAEEO
