If you're ready to start learning, growing and making an impact with a career in fintech, we'd like toknow: Are you FIS?About the role:Reporting to the Head of Digital Quality Engineering, the Director of Quality Engineering will play a critical role in driving innovation and growth for the Banking Solutions business. In this role you will lead the Quality Engineers in test automation and be responsible for transforming our talent and driving the quality of our value stream aligned digital products. You will be responsible for enforcing Quality standards through our Digital Quality strategy, with a focus on web, mobile and API test automation and quality gates. You will collaborate closely with product leaders, and other stakeholders to align on product milestones and deliver innovative digital applications resulting in a high-quality customer experience. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the company's digital transformation journey, drive customer-centric innovation, and position the organization as a leader in the competitive digital banking landscape. What you will be doing:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the quality engineering team, overseeing test planning, execution, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive automation efforts for mobile, web and API testing, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring efficient and reliable testing processes throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Work closely with the Head of Digital Quality Engineering to develop and enforce the Quality standards and strategy for Digital, ensuring high standards of quality, reliability, performance, usability and security.
  • Define and track key quality metrics, test coverage, defect rates, and performance benchmarks and provide regular reports and insights to stakeholders.
  • Ownership of test platforms/environments and test data needs.
  • Manage performance, security, and compliance testing practices working with engineering and operations teams to continuously improve the software delivery cycle.
  • Collaborate with development, QE, DevOps, product management, and other teams to align quality goals, prioritize testing efforts, and drive continuous improvement in development processes.
  • Promote and enforce quality assurance best practices, standards, and methodologies within the Digital organization, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and career development opportunities for the quality engineering team, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Evaluate third-party testing tools, services, and vendors, and make recommendations for adoption based on quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Identify areas for process improvement, automation opportunities, and efficiency gains in quality assurance practices, and drive initiatives to enhance overall testing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach to quality engineering, incorporating user feedback, analytics, and market insights into quality assurance strategies and improvement efforts.What you will need:
    • Proven experience in leading and managing quality engineering teams, including recruitment, training, performance management, and career development.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor teams towards achieving quality goals and driving continuous improvement.
    • Extensive experience in quality assurance (QA) methodologies, processes, and best practices.
    • Experience in mobile app test frameworks - Appium, Espresso, XCUITest and languages Swift, Kotlin, Java, as well as frameworks/libraries like React Native
      • Experience in web app testing using Cypress-- or Playwright and experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript
      • Experience in API testing using open-source testing frameworks
        • In-depth knowledge of testing frameworks, tools, and automation techniques for functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and security testing.
        • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools, including CI/CD integration using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD.
        • Solid understanding of mobile and web app development technologies, architectures, and platforms (iOS, Android), and user experience (UX) considerations
        • Ability to define and track key quality metrics, test coverage, defect rates, and performance benchmarks for the products and services your team supports and generate insightful reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
        • Experience in leveraging analytics, user feedback, and market insights to drive quality improvements and prioritize testing efforts based on user impact and business goals.
        • Knowledge of mobile and web app security best practices and experience in security testing and compliance checks.
        • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and their implications on web and mobile app quality assurance and testing processes.
        • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams including development, QA, DevOps, product management, and senior leadership.
        • Ability to articulate technical concepts, quality strategies, testing results, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
        • Ability to quickly establish strong credibility with employees, business partners and external resources.FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $145,900.00 - $245,120.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
